Guttering, Fascias and Soffits in Leeds

Overflowing gutters soak walls, rot fascias and push damp inside. We repair and replace the roofline so rain goes where it’s meant to.

Signs your roofline needs attention

  • Drips from joints
  • Plants growing in the gutter
  • Soft or flaking fascia boards
  • Downpipes coming away from the wall

Why it matters on older houses

On solid-walled Leeds terraces, a gutter that overflows onto the brickwork for a winter can show up as damp on the inside wall. Fixing the gutter is far cheaper than dealing with the plaster afterwards. Where fascias are rotten, we replace them before hanging new gutters, so the brackets have something sound to fix into.

Guttering and fascias: your questions

Can you just clear my gutters?

Yes. We clear gutters and outlets, check the downpipes run freely, and tell you if any joints or brackets need attention while we're up there.

Should I replace guttering and fascias together?

If the fascias are rotten or the gutters are tired, doing both at once saves on access and gives a neat finish. If one is sound, we'll only replace what's needed.

Do you fit cast-iron guttering?

We fit cast-iron style systems that suit period houses, and can repair existing cast-iron runs where the sections are sound.

Why is my gutter overflowing even though it's clear?

It may be sagging so water collects in the middle, have too few outlets for the roof area, or be undersized for heavy rain. We'll check the falls and outlets.

Do new soffits need ventilation?

Often, yes. Vented soffits help air move through the roof space and reduce condensation, particularly after insulation has been added in the loft.
